Obituary

William J. "Bill" Summerville, age 62, of Sanatoga, PA formerly from Clarion, died on February 5, 2015, at Phoenixville Hospital Hospice, Phoenixville, PA. Born on July 23, 1952, in Grove City, PA, he was the son of Harry N. Summerville and Ruth R. Cyphert Summerville. Bill attended and graduated from Clarion Area School. After high school he went to Williamsport Technical School. Bill worked as a computer programmer and retired from Verizon. Bill enjoyed playing golf, reading, and music. One of Bill's great joys in life was his music, and he played in a band called The Philly Suspects, whose members include Diana McCarter, Bruce Marshall, Dave Brown, Kurt Seldomridge, Mike Governa, Kevin Bolshaw, and Bill 'Flick' McDevitt; together with Bill these 'suspects' created beautiful music, and Bill's family is especially grateful for their friendships with him over the years. He is survived by his sister, Nola K. Riley, Celoron, NY and a sister-in-law, Peggy Summerville, Corsica. Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews: Laura Seaholm, Michael Riley, Richard Riley, Kathy Riley, John Riley, James Summerville and David Summerville. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Dean Summerville. At his request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
