William Wallace Miller, age 74, passed away on April 27, 2016, at his home in Marienville with his loving family by his side.
William was born on March 14, 1942 in DuBois, PA, the son of the late Ray J., Sr., and Bertha Mae (Shaffer) Miller. He was a graduate of East Forest High School class of 1960. In 1963, William was married to the former Betty Jo Anders Miller; she survives.
William was employed at the Flint sawmill as a teenager. He worked at Marienville plant of Knox Glass and the Marienville Station / United Stated Forest Service for many years. He then worked for Cochran and Zandi in Tiona marking and crusing timber. He was also self-employed doing construction, and consulting timber land.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He hunted, fished, and trapped from childhood until recently. He was known as "Skins," "Cowboy," and "Wild Bill," because of his cowboy hat, boots and belts.
He is survived by two sons, William J. (Melissa) Miller of Sheffield, and Wade W. (Dawn) Miller of Ridgeland, SC; and a daughter, Wendilyn K. Miller of Warren. He also has eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by a brother, Carl D. (Karen) Miller, and a sister, Mary Ann Allenger, both of Marienville, several nieces and nephews, and great- nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray J. Miller, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation (www.arthritis.org) or to the Clarion-Forest Visiting Nurse Association (www.cfvna.org) in memory of Mr. Miller.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home in Clarion. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
