Wendy E. Welsh of Cooksburg passed away on March 11, 2017 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville. She was 71 years of age. Born on April 7, 1945 in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Decker) Clever. On May 26, 1987, she married Richard E. Welsh, who survives. She was a member of the Lutheran church. She was a graduate of Clarion State Teacher's College and was retired from the Kiski Area School District where she taught for 30 years. Wendy is survived by her husband, Richard; her children, Brian Grafton, of Lompoc, California, Lori Froncek and husband Joseph, of Vandergrift, and Lisa Young and husband Brian, also of Vandergrift; along with four grandchildren, Brianne, Joshua, Hanna and Charlie. She is also survived by her brother, Walter Clever, of Vandergrift, and her niece, Amber. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Joani Forte and her husband Christopher, of Virginia. In addition to her parents, Wendy was preceded in death by a step-son, Richard Todd Welsh. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory. As per her expressed wishes, there will be no visitation and no services.
