Thomas N. McElree, 78, of Shippenville, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024 at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Clarion on April 5, 1946 to the late Donald and Mildred (Taylor) McElree.

Tom proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam as a combat medic. He served from 1967 to 1969. He was a lab technician at Clarion Hospital for 32 years until his retirement. He married the former Karen "Sue" Bowser and she survives.

Tom is survived by his wife, Karen McElree of Shippenville; sons Mike (Susan) Buzard of Rimersburg and Doug (Kara) McElree of Pittsburgh; sister Susan Taylor of Shippenville; grandchildren Shane Buzard, Kambria McElree, Austin McElree, and Emma McElree; great-grandchildren Sydney and Beau Buzard.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and family will be received from 2pm to 4pm & 6pm to 8pm on Monday, December 16, 2024 at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory Inc: 330 Wood St. Clarion, PA 16214. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 in the Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Bellis officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 66 immediately before the start of the funeral service.
