Thomas A.
Hollis
Sep 17, 1953 — May 9, 2026
Tom Hollis, 72, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 9, 2026, at his home in Strattanville, surrounded by his loving wife, Mary Clover-Hollis, and daughter, Patty Schmader, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born on September 17, 1953, in Tionesta, Pennsylvania, Tom was the son of the late Wesley and Jean Hollis.
After graduating high school, Tom proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1979. During his service, he worked as military police after completing law enforcement school. Tom will be remembered most for his kindness and generous heart. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. A gentle soul by nature, babies and animals seemed to take to him instantly. He loved making people laugh and was always ready with a side remark followed by his signature smirking grin. In his free time, Tom enjoyed cheering on his favorite Pittsburgh sports teams — the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. He loved tinkering in his garage, going to auctions, and always keeping himself busy.
Tom will be greatly missed by all who loved him, especially his wife, Mary Clover-Hollis; his daughter, Patty Schmader; his son, Daniel Buzard (Shannon Wagner); and his wife's children, Dan Clover and Amy Interval, whom he loved as his own. He is also survived by his four sisters, Suzanne Partin (Joe), Beverly Fasenmyer (Jim), Mary Hollis (Tony), and Deb Hollis; his brother, Steve Hollis; his beloved grandchildren, Eddie, Thomas, Jasmyn, Brady, Lacey, Alyssa, Kaitlyn, and Danny; along with several nieces and nephews.
Tom was a devoted brother who never missed a birthday phone call to his siblings, a loving father who always had encouraging words for his children no matter their age, and a devoted husband to his "Blue Angel," Mary — always fixing, building, or finding playful ways to make her laugh. He was a man who endured many hardships throughout life, yet somehow always made things seem easier for those around him. His strength, humor, and love will never be forgotten.
A small service will be held at Goble Funeral Home: 330 Wood St. Clarion, PA 16214 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm for the immediate family and celebration of life to follow at a later time for friends and family.
