Thelma Louise Varner, age 73, a resident of Liberty Towers in Clarion, passed away on April 26, 2015 after a courageous batter with cancer. Born on May 2, 1941, near Rimersburg, she was the daughter of the late George and Eleanor (Houser) Best. On November 8, 1958, she married Arvond Varner, who survives. Thelma enjoyed collecting teddy bears and listening to SBN, the Jimmy Swigart Ministries. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Donald Leroy Varner and his wife Brenda of Rimersburg, four grandchildren; Missy, Lisa, Jessica, and Donald, Jr., and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Allen Best of Mayville, NY and her sister Martha Glasser of New Bethlehem. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Nelson Best. At Thelma's request, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at Liberty Towers on Saturday, May 2nd at 2:00 p.m.
