Obituary

Terry Thompson Jr, 50, of Knox passed away following a yearlong battle with leukemia, on Tuesday October 8, 2024 while a patient awaiting a stem cell transplant in Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born on January 31, 1974 in New Castle, PA to Terry L and the late Nancy (Gossett) Thompson Sr. He graduated from Keystone Jr. Sr High School in 1992. Following his graduation from Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA, with an Associate degree in Applied Science, he was employed by various autobody shops throughout the area as a painter the last being Unique Fabrications in Shippenville. For a number of years he owned and operated Don Hartzell Motors, finally closing the business during Covid.

Terry was an avid car hound…he could see the potential in any old car and always had many projects going on at the same time!

He loved hunting, cooking and the outdoors but mostly cooking and camping with his many family & friends at Wolf's Camping Resort. His favorite times while camping were the many holiday parades, building floats, seasonal decorations, and just plain having fun. Where Terry was, there was always the potential for a great time to be had and lots of great food to be enjoyed.

In June of 1996 he married Carolynn A. Pfaff, who survives.

Also surviving along with his wife and father, Terry Thompson Sr. are his three children Patrick A. Thompson and his fiancé Makayla; Alexis V. Thompson; and Kolton J. Thompson all of Knox. He is also survived by two brothers Matthew (Lisa) Thompson, Mark Thompson, both of Cranberry; and a sister Heidi (Chad) Robinson of Ohio; his mother-in-law Kim Pfaff of Shippenville; his brother-in-law Jason (Jennifer) Pfaff of Shippenville; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, and great nieces and nephews.

He is joined in heaven by his mother, Nancy Thompson, and his father-in-law James V. Pfaff.

As per Terry's wishes there will be no visitation; instead, he wanted to celebrate with a get together of friends and family, which will be held at a later date.

Burial will at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Shippenville.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home in Clarion.
