Sylvia G.
Kiser
May 15, 1935 — Jul 9, 2026
Sylvia Grace (Traister) Kiser entered into rest on July 9, 2026 at the age of 91. She was born on May 15th, 1935.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 69 years "Dan" Ronald Dan Kiser , her mother and father Mildred and William Traister, her sisters: Eileen Larkey and Virginia Skinner; her brothers: Benton Traister, James Traister, and Fredrick Traister; and her grandson Jordan Kiser.
Sylvia is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren - her daughter Rebecca Kiser, her son and his wife Bradley and Connie Kiser, her daughter Sandra Whiteside, and Alan Skinner as well as 10 grandchildren John Kiser, Jacob Eygebroat, Katie Ressler, Tucker Whiteside, Taylor Kiser, Travis Whiteside, Nelson Whiteside, Michael Kiser, Amber Whiteside, and Jesse Whiteside. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Sylvia was born in Natrona Heights, PA, then moved to Shippenville, PA where she met her husband Ronald. They later relocated to Bird-in-Hand, PA and together created Calamus Estates Mobile Home Community for seniors. Sylvia and Ronald loved to travel and visited all 50 states, but spent most of their time between Clarion, PA, Bird-in-Hand, PA, and Lakeport, Florida.
Sylvia's favorite thing to do was spend time with family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved cooking, puzzling, and sharing stories over coffee and cookies. She was an AVID bingo, rummikub, and hand and foot player, and enjoyed occasional trips to the casino. Her secret to a long and happy life was a bag of chips and a can of beer (with a straw) before bed.
Sylvia was also very dedicated to her extended family. Her and Dan planned and hosted family reunions every summer for decades at their camp in Miola. Sylvia kept in touch with all of her extended family including her nieces and nephews. She was a friend to many, grandma to everyone, and will be deeply missed.
