Obituary

Sally Ann (Harris) Staab, beloved wife, mother, grandmother - TeeBoo, sister, aunt, and friend passed suddenly on September 21, 2015 at age 61, in Clarion, PA. She was born on July 13, 1954, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Donald and Rosemary (Piverotto) Harris. She graduated from Keystone Oaks High School in 1972 and went on to attend Clarion State College where she met her husband Jim. They were wed on August 3, 1974 at Saint Bernards Church, Pittsburgh, PA. and cherished the next 41 years together. Throughout her life Sally worked numerous locations in Pittsburgh, Orlando, FL; Brooklyn, CT; Hinckley, OH, and after returning to Clarion, the Clarion University Foundation where she retired from in June after 20 years. Sally truly loved life, enjoyed any time spent with family and friends, a Sally blue sky, and took every opportunity to put her toes in the water and buns in the sand. She enjoyed playing cards, planting flowers, sitting on the front porch, and had recently rekindled a pastime of sewing. She and her husband truly believed in paying it forward, even beginning an endowment at Clarion University to benefit graduates of Keystone Oaks High School and Clarion-Limestone Jr/Sr High School. She lived by the words that she preached and found comfort in her deep faith. Sally attended Immaculate Conception Church of Clarion, PA and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Upon retiring, she and her husband, Jim, were looking forward to spending time with their children, grandchildren, family, and winters in Myrtle Beach. Sally is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Kurt (Kriss) Staab of Slippery Rock; daughter, Megan Staab, of Harrisburg, NC; and grandchildren Delaney and Cole Staab of Slippery Rock. She is also survived by a brother and sisters: Donald (Joanie) Harris, Virginia Aufderheide and Margaret (Patrick) Karabinos all of Pittsburgh, as well as a sister-in-law Sharon (Greg) Simons of Broadview Heights, OH, adopted brother, Dr. Jeffrey BB Wentz of Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by both parents Donald and Rosemary Harris, brothers Lawrence Buck Harris and Michael Harris, her mother and father-in-law, Raymond Butch and Margaret Margie Staab, a brother-in-law William Bill Aufderheide, as well as two infant sons. The Staab Family strongly supports the Pay It Forward Scholarship Fund benefiting Clarion University students who truly understand and demonstrate the concept of paying it forward. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Pay It Forward Scholarship Fund, Clarion University Foundation, 840 Wood St., Clarion, 16214, or to the Immaculate Conception Church, 720 Liberty Street, Clarion PA 16214.
