Ruth Romaine Williams Hockman, 100, left this earth for her heavenly home on December 23, 2024. Born July 6, 1924, in Reidsburg, PA, she was the daughter of Pearle Florence (Lewis) and Arthur Elliot Williams. Ruth attended school in Clarion, graduating with Clarion Area High School Class of 1942, with 12 years of perfect attendance. She married Buss Hockman on April 10, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1999.

She lived her life in the Clarion community celebrating her 100th birthday with a party in July. Ruth was a life-long member of First Baptist Church in Clarion. She was known for her decorating style and attention to fashion but will be remembered by friends and family for the heirloom linens she created with her embroidering throughout her lifetime.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Carol Dawber of Clarion, and Debbie (Klaus) Oglesby of Canyon Lake, TX, and one son Rob (Pam) Hockman of Clarion. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Aaron Oglesby, Heidi (Brett) Leedy, and Gretchen (Brian) Miller, all of Texas, Dr. Mistie (Kurt) Haag, Janet Hockman, and Kyle (Maggie) Dawber all of PA. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Luke, Gunner, Ryan, Riley, Lili, Rogan and Raelynn.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Williams Cyphert Foster and Kathleen Williams Bingman, one brother, Arthur Reynolds Williams, two daughters, Karen Sue and Shirley Lynne Hockman, and son-in-law, Alex Dawber.

Visitation will be on from 9:00am to 11:00am on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Goble Funeral Home: 330 Wood St. Clarion, PA 16214, with the service conducted by Pastor Jimmy Swogger of Oakland Church of God. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Clarion Cemetery.
