To stand for what you know is right and honest no matter what the price. Discipline and toughness to weather the storms we all know will come. To be gracious and respectful, and to appreciate the value of a hard days work, and to do it to the best of our ability. You kept things simple so there was not any question to what the meaning of something was, and failure is only failure if you do not get back up and move forward. Most importantly, all your attributes have enabled me to work for God and fight the good fight between light and darkness. No matter what the hardships were Dad, I know gave it your all. There is only love Dad, only love. From Tory One of the fondest memories I have of Dad is he and I used to lie out in the sun in the back yard as Mom yelled out the window, I hope you two have sunscreen on. Dad and I would chuckle. Dad always kept a garden filled with tomatoes, lettuce, and tulips. Dad loved tulips and to this day when I see a tulip, I think of my dad. He loved the bright colors of yellow, red, and orange growing in the garden, and often sitting in the middle of our small kitchen table. Often, after yard work, Dad and I would pick a tomato from the garden, wipe off the dirt and bit right into it. For lunch, we would make tomato and mayonnaise sandwiches; he loved those and I loved eating them with him. Dad, I hope there are plenty of bright colored tulips and sweet juicy tomatoes in heaven. Today, October 12th, is your and Moms wedding anniversary: together again, happy, and no more worries. I love you Dad. From Trent Richard, I know you are proud of the three strong, independent and loving children you and Ruth raised. They love you and Ruth dearly, as I know you love them. I am proud to be your son-in-law. Give Ruth a hug for me. Love, Trenton From Britney What I remember most fondly about my grandfather is his little chuckle when I would closely look into his eyes, wide-eyed, and say I got my green eyes from you. He and I always enjoyed that repeated moment together each time we would see each other. Thank you for my green eyes, Grandpa. Miss you. From Jade Grandpa- I will always remember visiting and you giving the best hugs! Walking into your room, no matter the day, you had a smile on your face! Even though you kept things in line, you had the biggest heart! I am glad you always laughed at my jokes when no one else did! Love you grandpa, and tell grandma hello for me! From Gabrielle Grandpa, I will miss you. I will miss coming up in the summers to visit to tell you about everything new that was happening in my life, and to hear you say Gabrielle you are my favorite granddaughter. You swore me to secrecy to never tell Britney or Jade, but I figured it is time we filled them in on the news, not to say it was much of a surprise Anyways, I hope you are doing well and reunited with Grandma. I will be thinking of you often, knowing that you are at peace. Love you. Gabrielle
