Obituary

On April 24, 2025, Rev. Samuel L. Allaman, Jr. left his earthly abode to take up residence at the Heavenly banquet table following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 25, 1927 in Shippenville, PA, to Rev. Samuel L. Allaman, Sr and Grace (Myers) Allaman.

Sam graduated from Shippenville High School, Allegheny College and Drew Theological Seminary. He pastored United Methodist Churches in Espyville and Westford, PA, Jersey City, NJ, Coeymans, NY, Rimersburg and Lawsonham, Elizabeth, Murrysville and Ligonier, PA. Sam was also District Superintendent of the Connellsville District during his 40 years as a United Methodist pastor. He served as Dean of the Cabinet of Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mary Ellen (Heath), his half-brothers Wilmer (Eleanor) and Clair (Lois), his half-sister Ruth (LLoyd) Raybuck and his sister Janet (Norman) Young.

He is survived by his wife Ann (Recaldini), his sons Donald (Janet), Ronald (Karen) and Robert (Karen), his daughter Jana (Ray) Rennard, and his brother Wayne "Jack" Allaman. He is also survived by his grandchildren Donald Jr., Beth, Mary Kay, Angela, Justin, Julie, Missy, Nicholas, Kristen, Heather, and David; great-grandchildren Kendall, Nathan, Lilly, Bryan, Riley, Brynlee, Abbi, Todd, Emily, Leah, Allie, Carter, Andie, Camden, and Savanah.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory Inc: 330 Wood St. Clarion, PA 16214. An additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 11:00am until the time of the service at 12:00pm at the First United Methodist Church: 600 Wood Street Clarion, PA 16214 with Reverends Jodie Smith and Drew Harvey officiating. Livestreaming of the funeral service can be found at fumc-clarion.org. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Shippenville, PA.
