Norma Jean Baker, formerly of Lucinda and Liberty Towers, Clarion, passed away on May 14, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Shippenville. She was 77 years of age.
Born on April 19, 1939 in Huefner, Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Frank M., Sr., and Ethelreda (Schill) Baker. After high school, she worked briefly for Sylvania and then began her career as a seamstress. She worked most of her life for F.L. Crooks & Company in Clarion becoming well known for her quality tailoring work.
Norma Jean enjoyed crocheting and doing crafts. She was a member of Saint Joseph's Church in Lucinda.
She is survived by her brothers, Frank M. Baker, Jr., and his wife, Judith, of Lucinda, Daniel L. Baker, and his wife, Donna, also of Lucinda; her sister, Joann Lander, and her husband Francis, of Oil City; and her brother-in-law, Ira Host, of Pleasantville. Norma Jean is also survived by ten nieces and nephews and numerous great- nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Norma Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Host.
Memorial donations may be made to Charitable Deeds and Services, 260 High Point Rd., Knox, PA 16232 or to an organization of the donor's choosing.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where the family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday. A Christian Wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church in Lucinda with Father Joseph Czarkowski officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Lucinda.
