Nancy
Skeddle
Jun 29, 1953 — Aug 24, 2024
Nancy J. Simoncic Skeddle was born on June 29, 1953 and died August 24,2024.
She was predeceased by her husband Ken and her parents. Survived by her pets Joey, Boo, Ruby Sue and Sally Sue. Also survived by one sibling, niece and nephew, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many childhood friends and many others she has touched throughout her life.
To know Nancy was to love her. She lived by what she valued most in life: love, honesty, respect and decency. She was kind, loving and generous as well as wise and witty. She had a passion for helping others whether it be two legged four legged, feathered or furred.
Nancy's love for animals was without question the greatest passion of her life. She spent many hours volunteering at animal shelters/ rescues, and adoption festivals. She even opened up her own home for a few strays. Her dogs and her birds where her world. A pet lover through and through.
Another passion of Nancys was teaching arts and crafts to the mentally challenged and physically disabled through the program, Creative Hearts at the Saw Mill Arts Center in Cooksburg, Pa.
Since a young girl, Nancy was an active participant in Women's Rights. She preached the importance of equality and of women's reproductive rights.
Nancy was an incredible story teller. Once she piqued your interest, you had to stay to the end. She shared stories of growing up in Gill Hall (Jefferson), PA, stories of her young adulthood shenanigans and of driving her MGB. Stories of her days in Washington D.C. as Arlen Specter's secretary, for whom she was honored to work. Her eyes would light up when she would share stories of her parents, John and Ethel Simoncic. She certainly was Daddy's Little Girl. Her stories never failed to end with a laughter that resonated through the rooms. The laugh her parrot mimicked quite often.
Due to her request, there will be no funeral. RIP, Nancy. Thank you for the memories!
