Obituary

Long time Clarion resident, Mary Lou Watson, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 16, in Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh following a sudden illness. Mary Lou was born in Ellwood City on August 18, 1933. She was the youngest daughter of the late Glen Louis and Louis May Fowler. She married Homer L. Watson of Zelienople on September 16, 1952. The Watsons moved to Clarion in 1957. The couple founded Clarion-Printing & Litho where Mary Lou assisted with bookkeeping and printing production. Mary Lou was a loving and supportive mother always putting the needs of her family before her own. An avid sports enthusiast, she enjoyed bowling and golfing winning many tournaments and trophies. She grew up loving the outdoors and pursued many activities such as hunting, fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming and gardening. She remained active enjoying these activities until the time of her death. Pets and all animals held a special place in her heart. She was an accomplished quilter, designing many of her own quilts and blessing many people with gifts she created. She inspired many others to enjoy her craft, spending many hours assisting and teaching. She never met a stranger, and never lost her sense of wonder. In addition to her spouse of 62 years, Homer L. Watson, she is survived by four children and their spouses: Terrie and Edward Millard of Dahlonega, GA; Vicky and Bruce Campbell of Marianne; Glenn and Amy Watson of New Bethlehem; Donald and Valerie Watson of Venus; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren, her beloved pets, Dutch and Dixie, and two sisters. Her parents and a sister preceded her in death. Mary Lou lived a gracious life of service to her family. At her request, no public celebration of her life will be held. Her family expresses sincere gratitude to all who assisted in her peaceful passing and who have expressed sympathy and condolences. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Clarion PUPS, P O Box 480 Clarion, PA 16214. Private: Notes: At Mary Lou's request no public celebration of her life will be held.,
