Obituary

Marie (Vogelbacher) Garbarino, 87, of Clarion died peacefully surrounded by family at the Golden Living Center on September 29th 2015. Marie was born on October 17th, 1927 in Lucinda, the daughter of the late Bernard and Mabel Vogelbacher. She attended St Joseph School in Lucinda and graduated from Clarion Area High School. Marie was united in marriage on September 22nd, 1948 to John H. Garbarino who preceded her in death November 28th 2011. Marie was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion. She worked briefly as an administrative assistant at the Clarion College before devoting all her time and energy to her family. Besides being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother Marie enjoyed the simple things like quilting, gardening , playing cards and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her six children, Richard Garbarino of Boulder Colorado, Ann Landes of Clarion, Jim Garbarino of Clarion, Carol McGee of Vail Colorado, Mark Garbarino of Vail Colorado, Nancy Pyle of Clarion; eight grandchildren, Nina Landes, Katie Resch, Megan Bonta, John and Molly McGee, Tess, Erica and Danielle Garbarino and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by six siblings, Donald Vogelbacher of Titusville Florida, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Kerr of Clarion, Mrs. Paul (Sarah) Griebel of Corry, Mrs. Daniel (Mabel) Lander of Oil City, Mrs Richard (Nancy) Forbes of Wesleyville and Joseph Vogelbacher of Lucinda. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the VNA, or to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater PA Chapter. Friends and family will be received for visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Immaculate Conception Church, Main Street in Clarion on Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 noon with Father Monty Sayers officiating. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion.
