Maria P. "Kookie" Heinrich entered into eternal life on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

Kookie was born on March 24, 1939, the daughter of the late Joseph Aloysius and Florence (Wolbert) Heinrich.

She graduated from Immaculate Conception School in Clarion in 1958 and went on to work for Bell Telephone as a telephone operator. Following her retirement from Bell Telephone, Kookie worked at Beverly Healthcare. Caring for others was an important part of her life, and she also devoted many years to providing compassionate personal care to those in need.

Kookie was a woman of deep faith with a gentle and selfless nature. She quietly put the needs of others before her own and showed her love through kindness, compassion, and care. Her faith was a constant throughout her life and was reflected in the way she treated those around her.

Kookie found happiness in the simple things in life. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, birdwatching, and watching westerns. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Kookie was preceded in death by her parents, Florence in December 1973 and Joseph in December 1977; her brothers, Cyril "Gus" Heinrich in March 1996 and Eugene "Gene" Heinrich in March 2007; brother-in-law Leo Keim in 1981; Gene's wife, Norma Jean, in 2017; her sister Julia Beckwith in March 2006 and Julia's husband, Carl, in 2017; her sister Ruth Clare Reinsel and her husband, Richard, both in 2016; and her sister Leona "Chris" Heinrich, who passed away on May 31, 2026.

She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Keim, as well as many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

In accordance with Kookie's wishes, there will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the care of Goble Funeral Home in Clarion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm on Monday, September 28, 2026 at Immaculate Conception Church, 715 Main Street, Clarion, PA 16214, with the Rev. Jason Feigh presiding. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
