Margret Maria Lehnortt passed away peacefully at her home in Shippenville, PA on Friday, December 12, 2025. Margret was born and was raised in Lauffen am Neckar, Germany and was the daughter of Gottfried and Grete Walther Pfeilsticker. Margret graduated from business school in Stuttgart, Germany and accepted a job with an advertising firm in the same city.
Margret first came to the United States in 1954 and spent time with relatives in New York, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. While visiting Pennsylvania, Margret met her future husband, Willard F. Lehnortt. Margret and Willard were married in January 1958 in her hometown church in Lauffen am Neckar, Germany and remained married until Willard's death in 2007.
Margret loved to travel earlier in her life and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed outdoor sports like tennis and golf and loved to cross-country ski in the winter. During her life, Margret participated in various classes at the Clarion University of Pennsylvania (now PennWest University) in art, cooking, and in languages. She also loved music and attended many concerts in Pittsburgh, at the University, and at the Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts (ARCA) in Foxburg, PA. For many years, Margret also made her own wine, which she learned to do from her father. She was also a long-standing member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion, PA.
Margret was preceded in death by her father, mother, younger brother, older sister, and her husband. Surviving are her three sons and their wives, Dieter and Amanda Lehnortt, Kurt and Shelly Lehnortt, and Bruce and Monica Lehnortt, as well as various relatives in the United States and in Germany.
Funeral services will be private and held at the Goble Funeral Home: 330 Wood St. Clarion, PA 16214.
