Madeline Ruth Sowers, 100, of Clarion, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Lucinda on June 28, 1924 to the late Frederick and Dorothy (Baumcratz) Lander.

Madeline worked at Owen-Illinois glass plant as a quality inspector and retired after 38 years of service.

Survivors include her son Joseph (Aetina) Sowers; step daughters Leah (Anthony) Frisoli and Linda (Edward) Switzer; sister Lillian Gathagan. In addition, she is survived by 7 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren and 12 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jesse W. Sowers, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Friends and family will be received from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory Inc: 330 Wood St. Clarion, PA 16214. An additional visitation will be held from 10am to 11am on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church at 11am with Rev. Samuel Bungo presiding. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
