Lorna Jean Denio Vowinckel, a devoted homemaker, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her residence on October 7, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on December 5, 1935, in Erie, Pennsylvania, she lived a life filled with love for her family and a passion for the great outdoors.
Lorna was the cherished daughter of the late Alfred Elon Denio Sr. and Jean Elizabeth Lutz Denio. She was preceded in death by her husband John “Beany” Vowinckel on December 2, 2003 and by her brother, Alfred Elon Denio Jr., whose memory she held dear.
Throughout her life, Lorna found joy in nature's embrace. She was an avid hunter and fisher, reveling in the serenity and excitement of outdoor sports. Her warmth and generosity extended to all who knew her, and her home was a welcoming haven for friends and family alike.
Lorna leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her son, Allen Bruce Taylor Jr., of Clarion; two daughters, Debra (Michael) Cummings of Shippenville and Sherry Lynn Vowinckel (Steve Fleckenstein) of Clarion; and her sister, Marcia Betz of Detroit, Michigan. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren: Cory (Dana) Rex of Clarion, Meagan (BJ) Whren of Clarion, Ashley (David) Gunter of Clarion, and Rebecca (Jeff) Diamond of Milton, Georgia.
The Vowinckel family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers who gave such excellent care to their mother.
A private service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 12, 2026 to honor her memory and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many. Lorna's legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
