Obituary

Judith A. Kusenko, age 87, of Brookville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2026, at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville due to natural causes. Born on January 16, 1939, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, Judith lived a life filled with love, creativity, and strength.

Judy dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker. She was a talented artist with a passion for painting beautiful pictures, crossword puzzles, enjoyed shopping, flowers, bird watching, and all things pretty—especially anything that sparkled. She enjoyed watching nature and spending time at the beach.

A strong woman with a spirited and sassy personality who loved to dance. You could always find Judy and Mike on the dance floor when a jitterbug was playing. Judy cherished her family and close friends deeply. Her granddaughters brought her immeasurable joy and were a bright light in her life.

Judy always had a way of making us smile with her funny sayings. “And we’re off like a herd of turtles” was always said during a family adventure. It may have not always made sense, but now reminds us to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret McIlwain; her beloved husband, Michael Kusenko; and her brother, Joseph McIlwain.

Judy is lovingly survived by her son, Michael (Valerie) Kusenko of New Kensington, Pennsylvania; her daughter, Jennifer (Timothy) Keth of Brookville, Pennsylvania; and her cherished grandchildren, Hannah (Dom) Bonelli, Abigail Keth, and future great-granddaughter Bonelli. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Carol McIlwain, Donna Molnar and Marilyn Fairgrieve, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In accordance with the family's wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Judith’s memory and the beautiful impact she had on all who knew her.
