Joyce Alvon Travis Steiner Seitz, age 83, of Clarion, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016, at her home following a battle with cancer.
Born on September 5, 1932, in Rimer, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Alberta Catchpole Travis.
In 1954 she married Clair A. Steiner, who was the love of her life, and he preceded her in death in 1995. She later married her longtime friend Eugene Seitz in 2003; he preceded her in death in 2010.
She was a 1950 graduate of Summerville Joint High School. Before becoming a homemaker, she worked at G.C. Murphy's in New Bethlehem and at Sylvania in Brookville. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion.
Joyce enjoyed traveling and was proud that she had visited all 50 states. She liked to go shopping with her girls. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and telling stories about the good old days.
She is survived by her daughters: Debra Aaron of New Bethlehem, Pamela Hawk and her husband David of Corsica, and Carla Defelice and her husband Pasquale of Shippenville. She is also survived by her grandchildren: John Mark Aaron, Jr., Jessica Dembo and her husband Bradley, Ashley Aaron and her fianc Martin Crooks, Andrew Hawk and his fiance Jessica Kennerknecht, and Macy Defelice, as well as her great-grandchildren Avery and Marshal Crooks.
In addition, she is survived by her brother, James A. Travis and his wife Nellie of New Bethlehem, numerous nieces and nephews, and her special friend George Fackender.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday. A Christian Wake service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Church, Main Street in Clarion, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday with Father Monty Sayers officiating. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
