Joan A. Hartman, age 86, of Hartman Road, Clarion Township, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Golden Living Center of Shippenville.
Born on May 7, 1928 in Amarillo, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Cyril R. and Amanda R. (Arnold) Jones. On December 14, 1951 she married Chester L. "Bus" Hartman at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarion. He preceded her in death in 2002.
Mrs. Hartman was a homemaker and loved sewing and making quilts. She taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of New Rehoboth - Greenville Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Hartman is survived by her son, James R. (Brenda) Hartman of Clarion; her two daughters, Margaret A. (Matthew) Wedekind of Shippenville, and K. Jane (Ken) Smith of Clarion; four grandsons, Adam Kemmer of Clarion, Ryan (Shannen) Kemmer of Strattanville, Milo (Esther) Kemmer of Knoxdale, and Broc (Christine) Kemmer of Grand Junction, Colorado; seven great-grandsons; and three great-granddaughters.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hartman was preceded in death by two brothers, Cyril R. Jones, Jr., and Thomas B. Jones.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion. As per her wishes, there will be no public visitation. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at New Rehoboth - Greenville Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Dietrich, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the New Rehoboth Cemetery.
