Janet M. McCleary, age 59 of Shippenville, PA, died October 3, 2018 at her home after a brief illness. Born in Brookville, PA on August 22, 1959, she was the daughter of the late David and Shirley (Mays) McCleary. She was a graduate of Clarion Area High School. Later in life, Janet followed her love of cooking and food and pursued a career in culinary arts. She was proud of being a graduate of the IUP Culinary Arts program. Janet was presently employed by Country Fair and was the former manager of the Cooksburg Café and also worked at the Cook Riverside Cabins. Surviving are a son, Joshua Weckerly and his wife Julie of Leonardtown, MD; a daughter, Danielle Betts and her husband Michael, of Summerville, PA; three grandchildren, Zoey and Chloe Betts, and Annalisa Weckerly; and three step grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew and Elizabeth. In addition she is survived by two brothers, Timothy McCleary of Clarion, and D. Allen McCleary of Waterford, PA, along with a sister, Debra Hess of Rimersburg. She was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will take place on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Cedarview Memorial Park, Strattanville.
