Obituary

Harry Taylor Carnahan of Clarion passed away in his sleep January 29, 2018 at the home of his long-time friend Bonnie Rhoads. He was born on June 29, 1921 in Rimersburg, the son of the late Samuel T. and Emma W. (Ramsey) Carnahan. He was married to the former Helen Craig who preceded him in death in 1986. After he graduated from high school, Mr. Carnahan served his country during World War 11 for three years in the Army Air Corps with the 340/12th Air Bomb Group in Africa and Italy in a B-25 Bomber Division. After the service he was employed at Owens Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion for 40 years as a foreman. He was a past member of the American Legion. Mr. Carnahan is survived by his sons, Michael and Melissa, of Strattanville; Doug and Carol, of Shippenville; and Richard and Becky Eyler, of Limestone; his two grandsons, Kurt and wife Jessica; and T.J.; his four great-grandsons, Kyden, Kacen, Kayden, and Kowen; and his long-time friend of 30 years, Bonnie Rhoads. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his four sisters. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion, where military honors will be accorded by the funeral honor guard of American Legion Post 66 of Clarion at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services will follow immediately afterward at the funeral home with Rev. Jason Hunter officiating. Interment will be in Cedarview Memorial Park.
