Harry R. Cairns Jr., 77, of Sligo, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born in DuBois on April 2, 1947 to the late Harry and Ruth (Baker) Cairns Sr.

Harry proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He married the former Janet Louise Morrison and she survives. They spent 40 wonderful years together. Harry was known for sharing memories from the past and always had a story to tell. He loved history, travel, and antiques.

Harry is survived by his wife, Janet Cairns of Sligo; step-daughters Lori (Frank Randy) Bouch of Clarion and Darlene (Tracy) Slaugenhaupt of Summerville; step-son Tom Quinn of Shippenville; grandchildren Devin (Victoria) Slaugenhaupt of Stafford, VA., Danae (RJ Laugand) Slaugenhaupt of Pittsburgh, and Aislinn Slaugenhaupt of Clarion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Alan Cairns.

As per family wishes there will be no visitation and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory in Clarion.

Memorial donations may be made in Harry's name to the American Heart Association.
