Genevieve E. Hurrelbrink, 92, of Clarion, passed away on October 10, 2017 at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital.
Born on May 12, 1925 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Gazda) Filo.
Genevieve was first and foremost a mother and homemaker who loved taking care of her family and being with them. She enjoyed sewing, bird-watching, and flowers and gardening. Cooking for her family of ten children was first a necessity, then a pleasure. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Limestone.
She is survived by her three sons, Joe Semanco of Rimersburg, John Semanco of New Bethlehem, and Tim Semanco of Clarion; her five daughters, Genevieve Cavalett of Kersey, Betty Stromeyer of Tylersburg, Bernice Baker of Punxsutawney, Helen Christiansen of Swanville, ME, and Dorothy Huffman of Clarion. She will also be missed by her countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George Semanco Sr., and Floyd Hurrelbrink; and two sons, George Semanco Jr. and Dave Semanco.
Memorials in Genevieve's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choosing.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion. As per her expressed wishes, there will be no visitation, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
