Elizabeth "Arlene" Lerch passed away on September 28, 2015 at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 93 years of age.
Arlene was born on May 30, 1922 in East Brady, the daughter of the late Oscar and Bessie (Buzard) Conner. Soon after her birth, the family relocated to Conneration. There she attended a one-room schoolhouse. She also worked as a cook at the Clarion County Home near Sligo.
One August 28, 1943, she married Francis E. Lerch, who preceded her in death in June, 2005. They celebrated 62 years of marriage in the house they built together in Reidsburg.
Arlene enjoyed cooking meals for her family. Her true passion was scrap-booking newspaper articles.
Arlene is survived by a daughter, Betty Jane (Tom) Frampton, and by a son, Eugene (Linda) Lerch, all of Clarion; a granddaughter, Terri (Neil) Kemmer, of Clarion; and two great-granddaughters, Kortney Elizabeth and Lindsey MaKaylynn Kemmer of Clarion. She is also survived by a brother, Max (Mimi) Conner, of South Carolina.
In addition to her parents and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by a grandson, Gregory Frampton; a brother, O. Warren Conner; an infant brother, Wayne; sisters Ruby Burkey and Mary Alice James; an infant sister Dorcus; and a niece Tammy Conner.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, in Clarion, where friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral services will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Carol Brown of the MMC United Methodist Cooperative officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
