Edward L. Mowrey of Leeper passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on November 29, 2018. He was 58 years of age. Ed was born on July 11, 1960 (his mother's birthday) in Natrona Heights, the son of Willis "Skip" and Mona (Riggle) Mowrey. His father preceded him in death in 2011, and his mother survives. Ed graduated from Kiski Area High School with the Class of 1978. While in school he was active in baseball and football. He served for a brief time in the United States Army before a medical condition made it no longer possible. Ed was a dedicated reader and life-long learner. He enjoyed taking time to talk with his nieces and nephews about sci-fi and horror shows that were on television or in the movies. He was a great fan of Jeopardy and knew the question even before the clue was finished. He is survived by his mother; his brother, Theodore Mowrey, of Richmond, VA; his sister, Patricia Rawls (Ken), of Chester, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion. Private services will be held at a later date.
