Obituary

Dorothy A. Boyle Dorothy A. "Dolly" Boyle, age 93, of Clarion, formerly of Derry PA and Naples FL, died on November 28, 2018 at the Clarion Hospital. Born on October 3, 1925 in Derry, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Haire) Bertsch. On May 25, 1948 she married James P. Boyle. He preceded her in death in 2010. Mr. Boyle is interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Mrs. Boyle will be interred there with her husband. Mrs. Boyle is survived by her son, Jim (Kim) Boyle, of Jacksonville, FL and their children, Austin, of Tampa, FL, and Garrett, of Jacksonville, FL; her son Scott (Lisa) Boyle, of Clearfield, PA, and their children, Taylor and Caitlin Benton of Phoenix, AZ; and her daughter, Kass (Matt) Verne, of Clarion, and their son, Matt, of Erie, and a sister in law Nancy Baker of Blairsville, PA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; Caryl, Larry and Patty Geary being especially close to her. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Boyle was preceded in death by her siblings, Leslie Bertsch, Jerry Bertsch, Gene Bertsch, Marie Geary, Betty Smith, and Margaret Roddy. Mrs. Boyle was a homemaker who loved her family most of all. She cherished the 15-plus years she and her husband spent in retirement in Naples. She was proud of her kids and grandchildren and their accomplishments, loving that she could attend the college graduations of all five grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Boyle's name to Clarion PAWS, 11348 Route 322, Shippenville, PA 16245 (www.clarionpaws.org). Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion. A celebration of her life will be held this Saturday at RBG restaurant at the Park Inn by Radisson in Clarion from 1-3 p.m. Interment will be in the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia with her husband.
