Doris Lee Alkire, 89, of Clarion, died November 11, 2018 at UPMC Northwest after a brief illness. Born October 10, 1929, in Junior, WV, Mrs. Alkire was the daughter of George and Opal (Bennett) Arbogast. She was a homemaker and loving mother, devoting her life to raising her children; residing most of her adult life in Clarion. Survivors include her three children, Gary (Rebecca) Alkire of Salem, OH, Brenda Todd of Raleigh, NC, and Donna (Rick) Cavaliere of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Erika Todd, Shane Todd, Cameron Todd, and Nicole Cavaliere. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law; Genevieve Arbogast of Belington, WV, and Barbara (Preston) Hunt of Carrollton, TX; a brother-in-law, Stephen (Patty) Lipscomb of Spotsylvania, VA; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Alkire was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Alkire; her brothers, Norman R. Arbogast and Paul E. Arbogast; and her in-laws Dema and Leon Lipscomb. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion. At the request of Mrs. Alkire, there will be no services. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Clarion Cemetery Association.
