It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Donna Jean Smail Hubauer Reynolds, age 86, formerly of Limestone, Pennsylvania, on Sept 8th, 2026. Born on July 16, 1940, in Limestone, PA, she was the daughter of Ernest G. and Eleanor H. Smail.

Following graduation from Clarion-Limestone High School in 1958, she married William Dennis Hubauer on April 30, 1960.

Donna lived in several places while her husband Bill was serving as a seabee in the U.S. Navy, including Rhode Island, Florida, and Guantanamo Bay Naval Air Station in Cuba. Sadly, Donna lost her husband in a tragic car accident in 1975.

Donna spent many years living in Corsica, PA as a homemaker raising her family. Over the years she worked as a hostess and cashier at the 76 Truck Stop in Strattanville, PA, as a greenhouse worker at Farmer Smith's Greenhouse in Roseville, PA, and as a dental assistant in Indiana, PA. She also worked for several years as a greeter at the Clarion Walmart. She was a former member of the Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Corsica and served as their organist for many years.

Donna loved traveling, playing the piano, and going to flea markets, often looking for another piece of red glass to add to her collection. She had a friendly and funny spirit and loved to play Scrabble, solve crossword puzzles, and watch documentaries.

She spent many years enjoying the company of her cat Buddy.

The family is particularly grateful to her son Bill and wife Bonnie for the loving and compassionate care she was given at their home during her final years.

She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Hubauer of Dubois, PA and William Hubauer and his wife Bonnie of Clarion, PA; a daughter, Robin Zacherl and her husband Larry of Clarion, PA; a step-daughter Pamela Decker and her husband Brian of Pennsylvania Furnace, PA. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren: Aaron, Nathan, and Jonah Hubauer and Sarah (Joey) Thiebaud; Joni, Emma, and Taylor (Hunter) Zacherl, Kelly (Nick) Gilhousen; Kai Lutz and Kade Jacobson; Solana Thiebaud; Cora and Atreyu Gilhousen.

Donna is also survived by two brothers, Ronald Smail and his wife Julia of Nanty Glo, PA and Rick Smail and his wife Kim of North Versailles.

In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda (Eric) Jacobson.

There will be no visitation or service at this time. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
