Dennis R. Conaway, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully from natural causes on March 24, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born on January 30, 1957, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, and spent his final days at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Dennis dedicated his life to the food industry, sharing his culinary talents as a chef at esteemed establishments including the Holiday Inn, Perkins, and Emlenton Plaza. His passion for cooking brought joy to many and left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of tasting his creations.
A man of diverse interests, Dennis found great joy in playing the guitar, an art form that brought music and warmth to his family and friends. His love for the holiday season was evident in his enthusiasm for decorating and crafting Christmas decorations, a tradition that will be fondly remembered by those who shared in its magic. Dennis also had a deep appreciation for Westerns, finding solace and entertainment in their timeless tales. Above all, he treasured the moments spent watching his grandsons' baseball games.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Stella (Ardrey) Conaway, as well as his brother, Thomas Conaway, and sister, Janet Conaway. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Beth Conaway of Shippenville, who stood by his side through every chapter of life. His legacy lives on through his children: Garrett Conaway and his wife Danielle of Parker, along with their three sons, Candan, Beckett, and Merik; daughter Carrie Whyte and her husband Cecil of Sligo, and their son Greyson. Dennis is also survived by his step-daughter Haley Phillips of Emlenton and her two children, Kayden and Corrine. He leaves behind his brother Neal Conaway and his wife Margie of Clearfield, and his sister Judy King, as well as his mother-in-law, Karen Freyer of Knox.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., located at 330 Wood St., Clarion, PA 16214. A funeral service celebrating Dennis's life will follow at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Ed Rudiger officiating. Interment will take place at Clarion Cemetery.
Dennis R. Conaway's warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched throughout his lifetime.
