David Edward Louder, 73, went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2015.
He was born in Windber, Cambria County, PA on August 3, 1942, son of the late Eugene C. and Jane R. Pomeroy Louder. David was a 1960 graduate of Adams-Summerhill High School. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in secondary English from Clarion State College, followed by a Master's degree in elementary education from Clarion State College.
He taught fourth grade for seven years and seventh and ninth grade English until he retired in July, 2001 ending a thirty-three year career with Clarion-Limestone Area schools. So many knew him from painting their homes as he continued to dedicate his life in serving God and others. He continues to be a servant by being a bone, tissue, and cornea donor.
He served his country in the United States Navy on board a destroyer from 1960 until 1964. He was active during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Red Sea Alert.
David was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarion serving as a Trustee, an ordained Elder, Sunday school teacher, and youth leader. He was part of the Mission team, as well.
He enjoyed travelling, camping, hiking, spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He was a very loving husband, father and a great, great Papa. He especially liked attending Pitt home football games and basketball games, the Pirates and Steelers. But nothing compared to attending his grandchildren's football, volleyball, basketball, and baseball games as well as their concerts, banquets, and any events.
David was a member of the American Legion Post 66 in Clarion, the Lion's Club and the Clarion Presbyterian Men's Fellowship Breakfast Club.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life of 47 years, Ethel Mae "Bert" (Mong) Louder. He cherished their amazing love and time together with their children and grandchildren as a precious gift from God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children and their spouses, Dana Solida and her husband Joel; David Louder and his wife Marsha; and Dyan Siwiecki and her husband Matt. His nine grandchildren are Rachael, Ryan and Anthony Louder; Isaac and Isabella Solida; and Jacob, Justin, Jesse, and Jayden Siwiecki.
David is also survived by three brothers and two sisters and their spouses, Kenneth Louder, James Louder and his wife Midge; Elizabeth Skrout and her husband Frank; Raymond Charles Louder and his wife Ruth; and Nancy Patterson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Samuel Louder and his wife Leona; a sister-in-law, Delores Louder; and his mother- and father-in-law, Bessie and David Mong.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Clarion (www.clarionfirstpresby.org), the American Heart Association (www.heart.org), or the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).
