David Lee Deffenbaugh, formerly of Fisher Road, Strattanville, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Snyder Memorial Home in Marienville. He was 73 years of age.
Born on December 2, 1941 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Clarence and Helen (Stauffer) Deffenbaugh. In June, 1964, he married the former Helen Bradley. She preceded him in death in 2001.
Mr. Deffenbaugh retired from the Forest Area School District after a 34-year career as a 5th grade teacher at East Forest. He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and president of the local association for several years. He also was a farmer who enjoyed raising horses and making sure there was hay in the barn.
He is survived his children, Clay Deffenbaugh and his wife Nicole of Ellenton FL, and Diane Deffenbaugh of Roanoke VA; and his three grandchildren, Avery Lewin, Camden Deffenbaugh, and Seneca Deffenbaugh.
He is also survived by his brother, Richard Deffenbaugh of Montera CA.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, with Rev. Kevin Haley, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Clarion officiating.
