Daniel Allen McClaine, age 67, passed away on August 8, 2016 at his home of natural causes. Born on September 4, 1948 in East Brady, he was the son of the late Margaretta Jean (Snow) McClaine. Dan was also preceded in death by his brother Craig McClaine. He was a graduate of Union High School and owned/operated McClaine Refrigeration in the Clarion area for 40 years. On June 29, 1973, he married the former Catherine Best, who survives. Dan is survived by his wife Catherine; his daughter Christa Arthur and husband Sam with their children Morgan, Sammy, and Lydia, of Columbus, OH; son Allan McClaine of Slippery Rock; daughter Elizabeth McClaine with her children Daria, Erin, Hayden, Gavin, and Ferrin, of Clarion; and daughter Carrie Best and husband James with their children Tyler and Isabelle of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by sisters Ruth Jones, Gail McClaine, and Chris Dixon; and brothers David McClaine and Matthew McClaine. Arrangements are under the care of Goble Funeral Home, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday with Rev. Ronald Spencer, officiating. Interment will be in the Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
