Daniel J.
Clover
Aug 15, 1972 — Aug 15, 2026
Daniel "Dan" James Clover, 54, of Strattanville, PA, passed away unexpectedly and tragically on August 15, 2026 — his birthday — following a car accident. Born on August 15, 1972, Dan left this world on the same day he entered it, a bittersweet symmetry for a man whose life was full of meaning, laughter, hard work, and love.
Dan was the son of the late Mike Clover and Mary Clover-Hollis, who survives. He was a 1990 graduate of Keystone High School in Knox, PA.
Dan was a simple man in the very best way — the kind of man who proved you don't need financial wealth to be rich. By all accounts, Dan was one of the richest men around, measured in loyalty, friendship, family, and the kind of hard-working values people don't forget.
He enjoyed a long and proud career at Champion Homes in Strattanville, where he specialized in the manufactured and modular home industry. Dan took great pride in his work, and his craftsmanship, reliability, and dedication earned him deep respect from coworkers and friends alike. Without a doubt, he was one of the hardest-working men anyone could ever meet.
Dan was an avid hunter, and hunting wasn't just a hobby — it was his passion, his tradition, and one of his greatest joys. He loved the outdoors, loved sharing that passion with his children, and loved decorating his home every fall with his famously lively skeleton displays. He enjoyed the simple things: a good cup of coffee, time spent around his backyard firepit, tending to his garden, and cheering on Pittsburgh sports teams — the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates.
He was also a man who could fix anything. Basements, floors, vehicles, appliances — if it was broken, Dan could fix it, and he'd show up with a smile to help anyone who needed him. "Dan was a good guy and always there to help" wasn't just a quote — it was the truth of who he was. For those lucky enough to call him a friend, you had a friend for life, and he'd give you the shirt off his back.
Dan was an amazing cook, known for his holiday classics — his stuffing balls at Thanksgiving and his hardtack and cookies at Christmas. He honed his canning skills too, especially his hot peppers. His loving partner, Amy Guthrie, will forever miss the Sunday breakfasts in bed he made for her, a tradition he carried out with love and pride.
Dan loved country music, especially Garth Brooks, and on occasion could be convinced to sing "The Dance" at karaoke — something his family and friends will smile about forever.
Dan is survived by his four children, who were the greatest pride of his life: his daughter Lacey Johnson and her fiancé Jason Dowhie of Brookville; his daughter Alyssa Clover and her fiancé Austin Snuffer of Clarion; his daughter Kaitlyn Donahue and her husband Hercules Donahue of Clarion; and his son Danny Clover of Strattanville. He is also survived by his three beloved grandchildren — Emma, Cohen, and Waylon — who brought him endless joy.
Additional surviving family members include his mother, Mary Clover-Hollis of Strattanville; his sisters, Amy Interval of Lawrence, PA, and Patty Schmader of Clarion, PA; and his loving partner, Amy Guthrie of Strattanville. Dan is also survived by his beloved dogs Koda, Diesel, and Maggie, who were constant companions and a source of comfort and happiness.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Clover; his stepfather, Tom Hollis; and his brother-in-law, John Interval.
Friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on September 12th at Goble Funeral Home, 330 Wood Street, Clarion, PA 16214. A memorial service and celebration of life will follow at 11:00 a.m.
Dan lived life with humor, heart, and generosity. He made people laugh, made people feel welcome, and never missed a chance to help someone in need. His legacy is one of kindness, loyalty, hard work, and love — and the world is better because he was in it.
