Obituary

Charles Wayne Dunkle, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, in Clarion at his home. Born on July 25, 1941, in Cherry Run, PA.

Wayne's journey was marked by dedication and hard work. He proudly contributed to the road and blacktop construction for an incredible 53 years, retiring at the age of 73. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and community.

Wayne was one of 11 siblings of which seven are deceased. Also, he was preceded in death by his loving parents, a step-son Justin Lee Johns, and an adopted daughter Brenda Tregaskes, a grandson, Jordan Booth and a granddaughter Rachael Kroh. Wayne's legacy of love and strength continues through those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marty Dunkle of Clarion, and his three daughters: Sharon Booth of Strattanville, Rickki (Sheryl) Kroh of Strattanville, and Sharla McCoy of Tennessee. Wayne's memory will also be cherished by his brother, Earl (Marian) Dunkle, and his two sisters, Linda Slike and Jan (Denny) Minich. Wayne's extended family from Blue Berry Lane, including Patty, Jimmy Barker, Peggy, Craig, and Bristal Plowman, along with Sara and Tyler Barker, held a special place in his heart. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will carry forward his spirit.

He may have left this world, but his love and legacy will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew him.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory in Clarion. As per his wishes there will be no visitation and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

His wife would like to extend a special thanks to Aseracare Hospice for their special care and support and to Jane Glaister, Jan and Denny Minich.
