Obituary

Boggs W. T. Space, 91, of Clarion, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 27, 2018 at Cranberry Place in Cranberry Township. Born on March 17, 1927, in Clarion, Boggs was the son of the late Boggs L. and Mabel M. (Varner) Space. Boggs married Patricia Sue McAbier on August 17, 1951; she predeceased him on October 21, 1996. A 1945 graduate of Clarion High School, Boggs served in the United States Army Air Corps and was honorably discharged on November 16, 1946, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Boggs was enrolled at the Clarion State Teachers College for a time and later attended and graduated from the Bryant College of Business Administration in Rhode Island. Following his graduation, Boggs returned to Clarion and was employed by, and later managed, R & S Metals Corporation until his retirement in 1998. Boggs was also an active member of the American Legion Post No. 66 and served as Past Commander. Following his retirement, Boggs spent many winters in North Port, Florida. A friend to many and an avid golfer, boater and beachgoer, Boggs truly enjoyed the finer things in life and exemplified the mantra that age is only a state of mind. Boggs is survived by his son, Dr. B. Christopher Space, of Medina, Ohio, his daughter, Caryl Lu Semplice, of Clarion, his grandchildren, Bryan C. Space, of Westerville, Ohio, Brett P. Space, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, David M. Gulnac, of Clarion and Mars, Adam D. Gulnac, of Clarion, Andrew S. Gulnac, of Pittsburgh, and several great-grandchildren and extended family members. In addition to his wife and his parents, Boggs was preceded in death by his sisters, Maxine L. Burton, of North Port, Florida, Doris L. McKee, of Fairfax, Virginia, and Lois S. Garneau, of Lighthouse Point, Florida. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood St, Clarion where visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m, Saturday, May 5. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m., from the funeral Home with Pastor Tom Young officiating. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery.
