Betty Hight, 62, passed away on February 13th, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer. She went peacfully, surrounded by her loved ones at her son's home in Clarion, PA. She is survived by her two sons, Joshua and Matthew Fontenot, and her husband William (Bill) Hight. She was born on June 30th, 1955 in Ville Platte, Louisiana to a close-knit family of three brothers, all whom she lost the year prior to her cancer diagnosis. Her son Joshua moved Bill and Betty into his home, coming from Mamou, LA to Clarion, PA. After the cancer diagnosis, they all were overcome by the outgoing, warm-hearted and generious nature of the people of Clarion. As a Louisiana native born and raised, the care Betty was given at the Cancer Center at Clarion Hospital, and friendliness of all those involved in the two years she lived here made her happy to call Clarion her new home. She enjoyed creative craft projects, such as painting birdhouses and stones to put in the garden, planting flowers (even if they never grew…) and making beaded necklaces. When she wasn't doing that, she loved keeping in touch with friends all over the world on Facebook. She loved the sunshine and beaches and her morning coffee. She brought warmth, sunshine and happiness wherever she went and touched so many lives. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, to be followed at 11:00 a.m. by funeral services. Rev. Randy Evans, Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice Chaplain will officiate. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery.
