Betty J. Confer, 82, of Brookville, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2023 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

She was born on September 28, 1940 to the late Thomas and Olive (Byers) Murray.

Betty worked at Owens-Illinois for over 30 years. She married Lewis "Dean" Confer on October 21, 1960 and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2021. She was member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed reading, camping, and sewing.

Betty is survived by 3 daughters: Pamela Ann (James) Ward of Strattanville, Patricia Diane Shaw of Rimersburg, and Penny Sue (Denny) Hohman of Brookville; sister, Mary Louise Holman of FL. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Matthew Alcorn, Amy Smith, Casey Shaw, Summer Haskins, Kayla Marsh, Rachael Jewell, Alex Hohman, and Joshua Keesecker; 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives. In addition, she is survived by her special dog, Abbie.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant boy, Earl Confer, 2 grandchildren: Susan and Thomas Alcorn and 3 brothers, Ed, Bob, and Laverne Murray, 1 sister, Shirley Troutman and 1 son-in-law, Jeff Shaw.

Friends and family will be received from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory Inc: 330 Wood St. Clarion, PA 16214. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am in the funeral home on Friday, June 2, 2023 with Rev. Jeffrey Foor officiating. Interment will follow at the Strattanville Cemetery.
