Allen "Joe" Junior Crise
Allen "Joe" Junior Crise of Forest Rd, Vowinckel, PA passed away at the Golden Living in Shippenville on August 31, 2016.
He was born May 10, 1925 in Redcliffe, PA, the son of Alfred and Lulu Belle (McCanna) Crise. He retired from Marienville (Knox) Glass after 44 years of employment due to the closing of the factory.
Mr. Crise was married November 30, 1946 to Bernice "Blondie" Bauer who preceded him in death on November 10, 2002.
He was an avid trout fisherman and deer hunter for over 60 years. He loved the outdoors and up until his death he maintained his own home including mowing and snow blowing with the help of his daughter Betty Ann who resided with him. Over the past ten years, they became caregivers for each other due to various health issues.
Joe had a sense of humor and always had a smile on his face and a friendly greeting to everyone he know and loved as well as to those he just met for the first time.
Allen was a WWII Navy Veteran from 1943-1946, serving in the European Theater during the war, landing at Normandy with supplies for the troops at the end of the war.
He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Wile, who made her home with her Dad, and Janet Basile, of Lakewood, NY; a grandson, Jason Basile (Aleida Foulk); a great-grandaughter, Penelope Basile; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a step-sister, Willivine "Whoopie" Snyder. In addition, he is also survived by his best friend Bill Cox, who he visited every Saturday at Bill's house for a 2-hour visit. Every Saturday, he would say, "Going back to Bill's." He is also survived by two great sets of neighbors, the Gormans and the Stanleys.
In additions to his parents and his wife of 55 years, Mr. Crise was preceded in death by a brother Richard Max Crise and two grandchildren, Benjamin Basile and Raeanne Wile; and many, many of his dearest friends.
Joe will be missed by everyone whose life he touched.
Visitation will not be observed and a private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
