Life Legacy

Ralph Albert Kapp, age 94 of Rt 322 Shippenville, died 9/25/10 at his home after an extended illness. Born in Venus, Pa on 12/20/1915, father, Charles A. Kapp, mother, Flora Shorts Kapp, both preceded him in death.

Ralph attended schools in Venus and Shippenville, graduating from Ashland Twp High School in Kossuth.

He was married on March 15, 1946 to Dorothy Anderson in Brattleboro, VT. She preceded him in death on June, 20, 2002.

Mr. Kapp served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946. He was a Staff Sgt on the US Army Hospital Ship “Dogwood” during WW2 and saw service in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters.

He worked for the US Postal Service for 28 years and retired as Postmaster at the Clarion Post Office.

He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Clarion.

Survivors, two sons, Roger and his wife Ann Kapp of Victoria, TX, Fred and his wife Joanne Kapp of Butler, PA, one daughter, Margaret and her husband John Johnson of Tionesta, three grandchildren, Sara and James Hester of Tionesta, Ethan Kapp of Butler, three brothers, Paul Kapp of Clarion, Richard Kapp of Cheswick, PA, Charles Kapp of Cranberry, PA, two sisters, Edna Mae Hill of Amherst, MA, Joyce Lehman of Oil City. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Margaret and Mary Catherine, one brother and his wife, Harold and Janiel Kapp and a grandson, Matthew Kapp.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4, 7-9 at the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, Clarion, PA. Funeral services will be held on Wed. at 11:00 AM from the Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Harold O. Jacobson officiating. Interment will follow in the Clarion Cemetery.
